BonaServes: Making Volunteering Fun!

Volunteering can be great fun, but all too many people think it is not for them or that they are too busy to help. This might be because they have never done it, or because they do not know where to start. BonaServes aims to end this problem by creating a place to find where to volunteer around campus and around the town plus a place to find out more about volunteering both locally (St. Bonaventure University) and globally.

Want to spend some time in Romania?

Some of you may know Jay from Biloxi. She is now working in Romania and is looking for others to lend a hand with her Youth for a Positive Change.
Youth For Positive Change is a 3-phase project designed to empower 200 young people ages 16-28 working for positive change around the world. During See participants will work over the internet with other youth on their continent to identify a common problem in each of their communities and then to develop a response project. During Share participants will spend the fist two weeks of August together in the mountains of Romania taking part in intensive classes on practical subjects related to project design, implementation and management and field subjects related to human rights, environmental & ecological sustainability, social inclusion, culture & identity, and peacebuilding. Consider it boot camp for the Forces of Peace! Projects developed during See will be further developed and presented for feedback. During Be participants will return to their home communities and implement the new projects, as well as give subject specific presentations on what they have learned.

I can tell you Jay is a super cool person and I hope some of you take her up on the opportunity!
